MIAMI — The Jupiter-Tequesta-Hobe Sound division of the MIAMI Association of Realtors (JTHS-MIAMI) recently delivered holiday gifts to needy Palm Beach County seniors via its 8th Annual Silver Bells Angel Tree Program, the latest service project for a Realtor group impassioned on helping the community.
Under the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, anonymous community donors adopt local angels (children ages 0-12) and silver bells (ages 62+) who usually would have to go without holiday gifts. Then right before Christmas, the donors provide them with gifts and clothing.
“JTHS-MIAMI is honored to help bring holiday joy to our local seniors facing incredible hardships during the holiday season,” JTHS-MIAMI President Martha Gillespie-Beeman said. “Each silver bell represents a local senior in need of holiday cheer. Our members and REALTORS® are always working on how we can help our local community.”
A Commitment to Help the Local Community
JTHS-MIAMI community projects since the start of 2022 include collecting books for needy local children, raising money for local drowning awareness, collecting food, clothes and assisted in the cleanup in Southwest Florida after Hurricane Ian, collecting items for U.S. military personnel, participating in National Beach Clean Up Day, sock drive and more.
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program is one of JTHS-MIAMI’s annual community events. The Salvation Army helps put new clothes and toys under the tree for 1 million children across the U.S. who usually have to go without Christmas fits. Anonymous donors adopt these little “angels” and “silver bells” in an expanding Christmas tradition.
