Get help with paying your utility bill

Miami-Dade County has several programs that can help low-income individuals and families who are unable to pay their electric and gas bill.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally-funded program that helps low-income households pay for cooling or heating their homes. Miami-Dade County uses LIHEAP to help qualified residents pay their energy bill and offer additional help in cases of energy crisis.

To qualify for assistance, you must meet eligibility and income requirements.

Those that meet eligibility requirements will receive a credit directly through their utility provider. Applicants are advised to continue to pay the amount owed on their utility bill.
