FINANCIAL IMPACT: PHASE 1 – CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

Dear Colleagues,

In order to assess the financial impact that Coronavirus (COVID-19) is having on our cultural community, the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs is launching a two-part tool kit: the COVID-19 Financial Impact Tracker (CO-FIT) and the COVID-19 Survey of Impact on Miami-Dade County’s Cultural Community (CO-SIC).

In preparation of the Survey, the CO-FIT linked below is an Excel spreadsheet for your internal use. It will help you account for your organization’s revenue losses and additional expenses attributable to COVID-19. The data collected through this financial log will enable you to more easily respond to our upcoming Survey.

You can access the Financial Impact Tracker and Instructions here.

Financial information gathered through the Tracker and, subsequently, the Survey will be used to help substantiate and reinforce the urgent need for recovery resources for Miami-Dade based nonprofit cultural institutions and arts organizations. The aggregated information will be shared with our local, state and national arts funder colleagues and partners.

The Survey will follow in the next few weeks and, depending on the duration of this health crisis, we may ask you for this information on a monthly basis.

I want to express my gratitude for all you continue to do to uplift the spirits of the residents of Miami-Dade County. We are seeing so many examples of innovative approaches by arts groups and artists that are developing alternate delivery systems for cultural expression and generously sharing them online with our community. There have also been a few exciting announcements of meaningful opportunities and resources that we will be sharing with you early next week.

Stay safe and healthy!

Michael
