FINANCIAL IMPACT SURVEY: CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

Dear Colleagues,

The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs is launching  COVID-19 Survey of Impact on Miami-Dade County’s Cultural Community (CO-SIC), a monthly survey to  collect vital data on the pandemic’s financial impact on Greater Miami’s arts community.  Information gathered through the Survey will help substantiate the need for recovery resources for Miami-Dade based nonprofit cultural institutions and arts organizations.

Last week, the Department launched the first phase of a two-part tool kit: COVID-19 Financial Impact Tracker (CO-FIT), to help nonprofit cultural organizations account for revenue losses and additional expenses attributable to COVID-19. You can use the data collected through this financial log to fill out the CO-SIC Survey, now covering the month of March.

To respond to the survey, access the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Financial Assessment Tools here.

MARCH SURVEY DEADLINE: Friday, April 17, 2020 (include data from March 1-31, 2020)

In addition to reporting the totals back to you, each month we will be sharing the cumulative data regarding the cultural impact of COVID-19 with other funders and partners.

None of us could have imagined that just as we were in the midst of one of our most exciting cultural seasons, everything would stop abruptly. What is not surprising to us is that during this crisis, people are turning to the arts to be inspired, comforted and entertained. Thank you, artists and cultural professionals, for continuing to find new, innovative ways to enrich the lives of families and children in the face of uncertainty, anxiety and sickness. We want you to know that the outstanding work you do everyday matters, even more so now. As always, the Department staff and I are here to support you however we can. Stay tuned for more updates on useful resources and helpful opportunities.

Stay safer at home and healthy!
