School items will be tax-exempt during sales tax holiday

The Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday runs from Monday, July 24 through Sunday, Aug. 6. Qualifying items will be exempt from tax, which include:

  • Certain school supplies selling for $50 or less per item
  • Clothing, footwear and certain accessories selling for $100 or less per item
  • Personal computers and certain computer-related accessories selling for $1,500 or less (when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use)

There will be a second Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday that will run from Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, through Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024.
