Miami REALTORS® Partners with City of Miami Gardens to Launch Monumental Letters

MIAMI — The MIAMI Association of REALTORS® (MIAMI), in collaboration with the National Association of REALTORS® and City of Miami Gardens Councilwoman Linda Julien, proudly announces the unveiling of the Miami Gardens Monumental Letters and the Hon. Oliver G. Gilbert III Arch of Progress, scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2025 at the Sunshine State Arch (NW 13th Ave and 167th St, Miami Gardens, FL 33167).

Four-foot tall, Instagram-ready letters featuring “Miami Gardens” will be the source of community promotion, pride and engagement.

“MIAMI REALTORS® take pride in improving and marketing our beautiful South Florida communities one project at a time,” MIAMI REALTORS® Chairman of the Board Eddie Blanco said. “Our famous letters, made possible through placemaking grants, bring people together in a picturesque setting as a conversation piece of art.”

MIAMI REALTORS® has secured placemaking grants funded by NAR to invest more than $558,000 in South Florida communities since 2017. MIAMI REALTORS® has launched letters for Miami, Doral, Sweetwater, Miami Springs, Jupiter and more.

This project, secured by MIAMI REALTORS® through a Placemaking Grant funded by the National Association of REALTORS®, is a shining example of civic pride and strategic investment in public spaces. These grants empower state and local REALTOR® associations to lead projects that convert underused or neglected spaces into vibrant community destinations. By revitalizing these areas, the program aims to foster stronger community ties, enhance relationships with local government, and spur economic development.

The new Monumental Letters & Revitalization of the Arch are as a result of the grant program offered by NAR and secured by MIAMI. City of Miami Gardens Councilwoman Linda Julien is also a Governor on the MIAMI Residential Board of Governors.

The Arch will be officially unveiled as the Hon. Oliver G. Gilbert, III Arch of Progress at the unveiling due to the passage of Councilwoman Julien’s Resolution NO. 2023-054-1944, which renamed the iconic landmark. The Arch adds a new chapter to its history as it will be recognized in honor of the legacy of Oliver G. Gilbert III, a native son to Miami Gardens, former Mayor, former Chairman of the Miami-Dade Board of County Commission, District 1 County Commissioner, and an instrumental leader in transforming the City into a thriving cultural and economic hub. Under his leadership, Miami Gardens achieved All-American City status in 2020 and saw a wave of business and civic development.

“Our community is stronger when we invest in spaces that bring people together,” said Councilwoman Linda Julien. “These installations are more than just structures—they are symbols of who we are, who we aspire to be, and the reverence we hold for the leaders that are landmarks themselves in our community.”

The event is free and open to the public. Media are encouraged to attend.
