Bring your household hazardous waste to a mobile event near you

Come drop off your home chemicals and hazardous waste at these limited-time events.

Gather old electronics, garden chemicals, paint, and other hazardous items and safely dispose of them for free at the events listed below.

Home Chemical Drop-Off Mobile Events allow residential customers to dispose of items that can otherwise potentially harm the environment. These events are free and open to all Miami-Dade County residents.

Miami-Dade County Residential Home Chemical Drop-Off Mobile Events accepts household hazardous waste and electronics. ID is required. Present a valid State of Florida driver’s license or identification card to verify your property address.

Drop-Off Event Hours: 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Requirements:

  • Pack all containers upright in sturdy boxes
  • Tighten lids and caps on all containers
  • Place leaking containers in a larger container, along with absorbent material such as newspaper
  • Make sure all containers are labeled. If the original label has fallen off, re-label it with the contents or any information you have or label it “Unknown Chemicals”

Accepted Items:

  • Oil-based paints
  • Pesticides, solvents
  • Pool chemicals
  • Electronic items: computer monitors and televisions, personal computers, keyboards, hard drives, printers, VCR’s, audio and video equipment
  • Communication equipment: cellular telephones and hand-held radios
  • Unbroken fluorescent light bulbs, including the older, long-tube fluorescents, modern compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) and other fluorescent types
  • Latex paints that are still in liquid form
  • Propane tanks (larger tanks such as those used for RV’s, forklifts, or fixed kitchen gas supply are not accepted)
  • Empty oxygen tanks

Items that are not accepted:

  • Business-and government-generated waste, explosives, biohazardous waste, appliances, microwave ovens

The events are only open to all Miami-Dade Residents. The events are not open for business or commercial use.
