Businesses located in Miami-Dade County can apply for the free race and gender-neutral Small Business Enterprise (SBE) certification online via the Business Management Workforce System.
Once certified, an SBE business will receive one-on-one technical assistance and guidance on bid opportunities with the County. Contracts are carved out specifically for SBE-certified firms with Miami-Dade County.
- SBE certification is as simple as having a physical location in Miami and being in business for one year with a Miami-Dade County local business tax receipt
- Your business gross receipts must not exceed a 3-year average per program along with other criteria
- Industries that can certify include: Architectural and Engineering Services, Construction Contractors and Goods and Services
From November 2018 to June 2021, SBE firms were awarded an average of $248,318 in contracts and 2,428 contracts were awarded to SBE firms.
