Community Grants Program (CG)

A quarterly program for nonprofit organizations developing small and large-scale community-based cultural programs (dance, theater, music, visual arts), as well as projects and events, such as fairs, parades, neighborhood festivals and publications that have a strong artistic component.
The program funds projects with strong community involvement and/or outreach component. The Community Grants (CG) Program is particularly sensitive to the needs of indigenous cultural neighborhood activities and projects encouraging the preservation of heritage, traditions and culture, as well as social service organizations and cultural groups developing collaborative intervention projects using the arts.

Tourist Development Grants Program (TDC)

The Tourist Development Council grants program provides support to nonprofit and for-profit organizations presenting significant cultural or special events, including sports activities and television and film origination projects that promote Miami-Dade County’s appeal as a tourist destination.

Arts groups, cultural organizations, community nonprofit organizations, individual artists and artist collectives are invited to attend these free workshops about Miami-Dade County’s cultural grants programs. Learn how to apply for arts funding and which grants programs may be the right fit for your cultural project.
Cultural Affairs staff will provide information about the competitive funding opportunities for nonprofit arts groups and artists as well as other helpful resources available for the cultural community.
Art projects that are especially encouraged include those:

  • with a strong community involvement;
  • with an outreach component that promotes inclusion and equitable access to the arts;
  • with a focus on delivering cultural services to underserved populations and/or under-resourced neighborhoods;
  • that have the potential to generate tourism;
  • that are particularly sensitive to the needs of indigenous cultural activities;
  • that are encouraging the preservation of heritage, traditions and culture: and,
  • where social service organizations and cultural groups are developing collaborative intervention projects using the arts.

There will be an interactive Q & A session following the workshop presentation. Questions will be addressed in English, Spanish, or Haitian Creole. ADA/accessible accommodations are available.

Join Miami-Dade County Art in Public Places for a series of informative presentations discussing the program’s best practices, case studies, and tools to succeed as a visual artist. Workshops will be held in person at specific and convenient times and locations throughout Miami-Dade County to allow the greatest access. This workshop series is presented in conjunction with Miami-Dade County Art in Public Places’ 50-year anniversary.

Submit event listings for the 2025 Golden Ticket Arts Guide. Participation is easy! To participate, simply submit cultural events here. To submit be part of the print guide, events must take place between November 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025. In addition, submit high-resolution images to accompany your event submissions via Dropbox or WeTransfer link to katherine.revell@miamidade.gov.  The deadline to submit is June 10, 2024.
