Project Green Light will help keep Miami-Dade safe

Project Green Light Miami-Dade (PGLMD) is part of Mayor Daniella Levine Cava’s Peace & Prosperity Plan. PGLMD is a ground-breaking crime-fighting partnership between private business owners and the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD). PGLMD focuses on improving public safety and promoting business growth. PGLMD provides financial assistance to qualifying small businesses to help subsidize costs (assistance is based on the availability of funds).

PGLMD Partners will install high-resolution cameras and upgrade to high-speed network connections that enable consistent video streaming to the MDPD’s Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC). The camera feeds will utilize advanced video technology and actionable intelligence in real-time to assist MDPD ‘s efforts to deter, identify and solve crime, which will improve community safety.

PGLMD Partners are required to have sufficient exterior lighting that will produce clear videos with distinct images at all times of the day and night. PGLMD Partners are responsible for the cost and maintenance of exterior lighting if deemed necessary. In addition, PGLMD Partners will be required to install a flashing green light and a PGLMD sign which will signify to customers and community members that they are a PGLMD participant.
