Report lost items on a taxi, limo or jitney

If you lose an item while riding a taxi, limo, or jitney, the quickest and most convenient way to report it is online.

Report a lost item on a taxi, limo, jitney, or other for-hire transportation vehicle.

Note: report lost items on a ride-share vehicle directly with the company that provided the service.

You will be notified if the item is located by our Lost and Found office staff.

Always remember to check your packages and personal belongings before exiting a taxi, limo, jitney, or other for-hire vehicle. The County is not responsible for items left on vehicles, or reimbursement for lost items.

Certain items such as keys and glasses are too numerous, common, and difficult to catalog. When reporting a lost item, please provide as many details as possible about your lost item and the circumstances.

The department makes every attempt to identify lost items and return them to their owners.

For out-of-state customers unable to pick up a lost item, please call for more information.

For additional information, please contact the Passenger Transportation Regulatory Division at 786-469-2300 Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding county observed holidays.
