The City of North Miami will host a Follow-Up Vaccination Event at The Griffing Community Center on May 9th, 2021

North Miami, FL – May 5, 2021

The City of North Miami will host a follow-up vaccination event for residents who received their first Pfizer vaccine dose during our previous events held on April 18th, 19th, and April 20th. This follow-up vaccination event will take place at the Griffing Community Center (located at 12220 Griffing Blvd., North Miami, FL 33161) on Sunday, May 9th, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

North Miami Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin will sponsor this District 3 community vaccination site in collaboration with Representative Christopher Benjamin, Representative Dotie Joseph, Holy Family Catholic Church, the Florida Department of Emergency Management, and the Florida Department of Health.

Additionally, residents who are 18 years of age and older may walk-in for service, if they wish to receive a one-time dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. The temporary pause on the Johnson & Johnson vaccine was lifted by the FDA and CDC. The decision to resume vaccinations was based on recommendations from the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. The committee concluded that the known and potential benefits of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine outweigh its known and potential risks to individuals 18 years of age and older.

“We are confident that this vaccine continues to meet our standards for safety, effectiveness, and quality,” said Janet Woodcock, M.D., Acting FDA Commissioner.

There is no registration required for this event. Residents must show proof of Florida residency (for example: monthly mortgage statement, utility bill, or any other documentation that provides proof of address) and a valid form of ID upon arrival.
