Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs Announces Second Cycle of Grants Program Deadlines for 2018-2019 Spring

The Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs has released guidelines and deadline schedules for the fiscal year 2018-2019 spring cycle of arts and cultural grants programs available to Miami-Dade County based non-profit cultural groups. Guidelines containing information regarding eligibility requirements, funding requests and program criteria can be downloaded at www.miamidadearts.org by clicking GRANTS / GRANTS FOR ORGANIZATIONS. Grant guidelines can also be requested by calling the Department of Cultural Affairs at (305) 375-4634, or via email at culture@miamidade.gov.

Beginning with the spring 2018-2019 grant cycle, grant applications and supporting documentation will be submitted via the cloud-based, online grants management platform, SurveyMonkey Apply at www.miamidadearts.smapply.io. It is required that interested applicants contact the Grant Administrator directly to set up a pre-application consultation prior to submitting an application. 

ANNUAL OPERATING SUPPORT PROGRAMS

Developing Arts in Neighborhoods (DAN) Grant Program

Provides funding and technical assistance support to small and/or developing cultural groups with annual organizational budgets under $100,000 that create, present or produce year-round cultural activities and arts programs in Miami-Dade County at the grassroots level, including underserved neighborhoods, communities or special populations. Applicants to this program must have at least a two year track record of creating, producing or presenting year-round cultural programs and activities.

Festivals and Special Events (FEST) Grant Program

Provides grants to non-profit organizations presenting major annual festivals and special events in Miami-Dade County which have an established reputation for excellence and credibility, are capable of attracting visitors on regional, national and/or international levels, and have a significant and positive impact on the perception of Miami-Dade County as a dynamic cultural community.

CULTURAL FACILITIES PROGRAMS
Capital Development (CAP) Grant Program

Provides grants to non-profit cultural organizations for capital improvement projects that are designed to expand, renovate, construct, and/or equip cultural facilities located within Miami-Dade County. These capital projects assist the nonprofit cultural community in providing increased public service, greater access, enhanced exhibition or performing space and in developing cultural facilities that can be operated more effectively and efficiently. Programs in facilities for which grants have been provided must be ADA accessible and promoted to the general public.

OUTREACH PROGRAMS
International Cultural Exchange (ICE) Grant Program

Provides grants to Miami-Dade County-based professional cultural organizations to support meaningful artistic exchange, partnerships or collaborations with professional artists, arts professionals and/or organizations abroad. The program aims to elevate Miami-Dade County’s image abroad and to support the efforts of Miami-Dade’s artists and cultural organizations to improve their work by engaging in meaningful arts activities with artists, arts professionals (such as curators, historians, designers) and/or organizations abroad.

YOUTH ARTS GRANTS PROGRAMS
Youth Arts Enrichment (YEP) Grant Program

Provides grants to nonprofit organizations providing cultural arts outreach programs that enrich the lives of children through the arts by making the arts available to more children and families throughout Miami-Dade County, whereby, children will have opportunities to have positive live arts experiences through:  Arts Instruction; Arts Intervention; Healing/Expressive Arts; In-school Performances; or Public Performances/Exhibitions.

PRE-GRANT SUBMISSION CONSULTATIONS:

Applicants to these programs are required to schedule a pre-grant submission staff consultation. To schedule a staff consultations, contact the grant program administrator directly or visit the program specific page at www.miamidadearts.org/grants.
