8-Week Nutritional Education Program to Be Held Through City of West Palm Beach, FAMU Cooperative Extension Program

WHO: City of West Palm Beach Department of Housing and Community Development; Florida A&M University (FAMU); Members of the public

WHAT: West Palm Beach residents are invited to attend, in-person or virtually, a FREE 8-week nutritional education series offered through the City of West Palm Beach, FAMU Cooperative Extension Program (CEP). Sessions will focus on various dietary topics, including mindful grocery shopping, active lifestyles, benefits of different protein sources and more.

Program is open to individuals 13 years of age and older. CEP aims to empower the community by expanding their knowledge of sustainable, affordable and healthy food options.

WHEN: Mondays, beginning October 10, 6 -7 p.m.

  • October 10 – Introduction to FAMU Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program
  • October 17 – Get Moving!
  • October 24 – Plan, Shop, Save!
  • October 31 – Fruits & Veggies: Half Your Plate
  • November 7 – Half Your Grains
  • November 14 – Build Your Bones
  • November 21 – Go Lean Protein!
  • November 28 – Make a Change
  • December 5 – Celebrate!

WHERE: Virtual: Please register ahead of time by clicking here. Registrants will receive Zoom login details closer to the date of their event. In-person: Northend RISE Community Resource Center, 723 39th Street.
