West Palm Beach City Commission Meeting Approvals and Decisions

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (DATE) – Below is a summary of the approvals and decisions made by the City Commission meeting on Monday, June 26, 2023.

MAYOR’S OFFICE – Approved two resolutions accepting a $40,000 grant from the James L. and John S. Knight Foundation for a pilot program for Digital Trust for Places and Routines; and the second resolution to appropriate the grant funds for the Digital Trust for Places and Routines program.

DEVELOPMENT SERVICES – Approved a resolution for the installation of improvements within the City rights-of-way adjacent to The Grand at 609 2nd Street and approving a right-of-way maintenance agreement with Rosemary WPB, LLC for maintenance of the improvements; approved an ordinance after a second public hearing to amend multiple sections of Chapter 94 of the City Code to prohibit Medical Marijuana Dispensaries within the City of West Palm Beach – a third public hearing on these amendments is scheduled for the July 10, 2023 City Commission Meeting; continued a resolution to replat property to create “The Grand” plat, about 2.54 acres at 609 2nd Street, and grant underground utility easement; approved a resolution correcting the legal description of the alley previously abandoned for “The Grand” project; approved a resolution for a replat and minor subdivision of property at 2649 Electronics Way; approved a resolution for the subdivision and replay of property associated with the Transit Village mixed-use project at 134 Clearwater Drive; approved a resolution after public hearing on the abandonment of the right-of-way for portions of 23rd Street and 25th Street; approved a resolution after public hearing approving a plat and minor subdivision to create the Northwood Square Plat.

ENGINEERING – Approved a resolution to remove berms on a portion of 60th Street North.

PUBLIC WORKS – Approved a resolution appropriating funds from the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) for sidewalk repairs in the downtown area;

PUBLIC UTILITIES – Approved a resolution to provide $10.1 million in Public Utility funds for various water, sewer and stormwater capital projects and to adjust water operating expenses;
