Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Equitable Community Responses to COVID-19

Miami-Dade County intends to submit an “Advancing Health Literacy to Enhance Equitable Community Responses to COVID-19” grant application to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on or before April 20, 2021. If funded, this federal grant will fund programs to support projects that implement innovative models to improve minority health and reduce health disparities. In response to that proposed effort, Miami-Dade County Office of Management and Budget seeks Letters of Interests from Community Based-Organizations (CBO) and Health-Based Organizations (HBO) with experience in developing or implementing culturally appropriate health literacy programs. Letters of Interest from candidate CBO and HBO partners for Miami-Dade County to design projects to demonstrate the effectiveness of local government implementation of evidence-based health literacy strategies that are culturally appropriate to enhance COVID-19 testing, contact tracing and/or other mitigation measures (e.g., public health prevention practices and vaccination) in racial and ethnic minority populations and other socially vulnerable populations.

Instructions for the Letter of Interest are provided in detail on the Notice of Letters of Interest accessible from the Miami-Dade County Grants website at miamidade.gov/grants. The deadline for Letters of Interest Is April 6, 2021. Letters should be sent by email as a Word document or PDF attachment to Daniel T. Wall, Assistant Director, at [email protected].
