Apply for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Waitlist

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waitlist is set to open on February 5, at midnight, offering an opportunity for eligible individuals aged 18 and above to secure housing assistance. To be eligible, applicants must meet program requirements and adhere to income limits based on their household composition. The selection process involves a random draw, with only 5,000 applications being accepted onto the waitlist. Duplicate applications are not permitted, limiting households to a single submission. It’s essential to be cautious of scams, as legitimate applications are free of charge.

To apply, individuals must provide key information, including their full legal name, date of birth, and contact details for future paperwork assistance. The application process is exclusively online, and applicants can visit miamidadevoucher.myhousing.com

For those without internet access, technical assistance is available at regional libraries and community centers during business hours. The application period is from February 5, at midnight to February 19, at 11:59 p.m. Once submitted, applicants can check their status through the application portal and will be notified in writing to the provided mailing address or email address.

Upon completing the application, it’s crucial for applicants to print and retain their confirmation code for future reference.

For additional information or assistance, individuals can contact the designated hotline at 786-654-8440, Monday through Friday from 8  a.m. to 5:00, excluding holidays. Alternatively, they can reach out to 311 during business hours, or visit www.miamidade.gov/housing for more details.
