Artists Grants COVID-19 Relief – APPLY NOW

Dear Colleagues,

We know the hardships many in our cultural community continue to face due to COVID-19. We are especially aware of the impact of the pandemic on Miami-Dade County’s outstanding artists. To help, we are proud to announce the new  Miami-Dade Artist Support! (MÁS!) Grants Program,  a joint initiative The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation and our Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs.

Apply Here

The new Miami-Dade Artist Support! (MÁS!) Grants Program, which opens today, provides one-time grant awards to professional artists of all disciplines residing in Miami-Dade with urgent financial need. MÁS! funds are unrestricted and may be used by artists to help with financial issues due to the impact of COVID-19 on their lives and livelihoods. Awards range from $200 to $500. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, June 24, 2020. We urge artists to apply as soon as possible as awards will be made on a first come, first served basis.

A Private-Public Partnership

It is during times like these that community leaders can make a difference.  The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation  did not hesitate to match funding committed by our Department for this critically needed financial assistance to artists who are facing unprecedented hardships. Xavier Cortada, Chair of the Miami-Dade County Cultural Affairs Council, wanted to convey this message to artists of our community:

“Working artists are the foundation of what makes our cultural life great. We at the Council and at the Department are passionate about making sure that artists survive this epic crisis. And we are so fortunate that Jorge Pérez and The Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation are just as committed to this mission of helping artists in this extraordinary time of need. We have joined forces and resources to send a loud message: artists are indispensable to understanding our world and leading us to better times. We are here for you!”
