All government offices are closed on Tuesday, July 4, commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States in 1776.

  • Miami-Dade Transit will operate on a reduced service schedule.
  • Miami-Dade Solid Waste will not collect garbage and disposal facilities will be closed Tuesday, July 4. Recycling will be collected on Monday, July 3, as scheduled.

Things to do in Our County

  • To kick off Parks and Recreation Month, Miami-Dade Parks is hosting the 4th of July Kickoff Celebration. The event will take place at Tropical Park with food, activities and more. Registration is required
  • Celebrate the 4th of July in Coconut Grove’s Peacock Park with the Miami Symphony Orchestra
  • City of Hialeah will host an Independence Day Celebration with live music, drinks, food trucks and fireworks at Milander Park
  • Homestead presents their annual “Race to the 4th” event filled with live music, entertainment, delicious food, thrilling rides for children, and a grand fireworks finale
  • Town of Miami Lakes is hosting a 4th of July Celebration with live entertainment, food, drinks and introducing the first Sensory Inclusive Zone. The Sensory Inclusive Zone aims to eliminate barriers that prevent individuals with special needs from participating in community events
  • City of South Miami’s Fourth of July Celebration, enjoy an evening of live entertainment, food trucks, kids activities, and a spectacular fireworks display show
  • Miami Beach Celebration Fire on the Fourth in North Beach features a dedicated family zone, food trucks, live entertainment, a rock climbing wall and Independence Day Fireworks & Patriotic Concert in South Beach
  • North Bay Village Fourth of July Party at Dr. Paul Vogel Park. Barbecues, a dessert truck, face painting and live music
  • Parks and outdoor locations like Deering EstateZoo Miami or Fruit & Spice Park are open. Enjoy the summer by spending the day in one of our unique outdoor spaces
