Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin Announces North Miami’s Inaugural Vegan Creole Festival

NORTH MIAMI, FL (October 7, 2025)

North Miami Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin, District 3, is thrilled to announce the inaugural Vegan Creole Festival, a free, family-friendly celebration of plant-based cuisine, culture, and community, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25, from 2 to 10 p.m., at Griffing Park, located at 12220 Griffing Boulevard, North Miami, FL 33161.

The festival will be a vibrant showcase of the rich flavors of vegan food and Caribbean traditions, a testament to the diverse community of North Miami. Local chefs, vendors, artists, families, and community organizations will come together to celebrate cultural culinary traditions and pride, while promoting healthy living.

“The Vegan Creole Festival represents the heart of North Miami innovation, tradition, and togetherness,” Estimé-Irvin said. “This event is not only about showcasing our rich culture, but also about promoting healthier lifestyles for our families and celebrating the creativity of our community. I invite everyone to join us for a day of food and fun; and I challenge everyone to try a new vegan dish in the process.”

Throughout the day, guests can actively participate in the festival by sampling vegan tacos, plant-based burgers, spiced vegan Creole dishes, fresh fruits, smoothies, fresh juices, vegan desserts, and vegan ice cream. There will be opportunities for free tastings and recipe sharing, making it a truly interactive experience.

Entertainment will include a DJ and live band. Traditional Creole drumming groups are also planned as part of the programming, promising a day filled with rhythm and fun. Family activities will feature bounce houses and inflatables, face painting, arts and crafts, and storytelling.

Health and wellness offerings will be a significant part of the festival, including fitness demonstrations, nutrition resources, and holistic services. MJD Wellness and Community Center will provide free health screenings, mental health resources, and nutrition guidance. Additional partners from the wellness coalition are being finalized, ensuring comprehensive and informative experience.

In addition to food vendors, the event invites a range of small businesses and creators, including:

  • Eco-friendly and sustainable brands offering natural products and organic skin care
  • Local artists and crafters with cultural art and handmade accessories
