Fish freely with a license

With some exceptions, you must have a license to fish in Florida. There are two types of recreational fishing licenses: freshwater and saltwater. Each license has restrictions for the type of fish you can take. Combination licenses and commercial freshwater fishing licenses are also available depending on your needs.

Learn more about each fishing license and buy the desired fishing license through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) website. You can also buy a fishing license at the Tax Collector’s office, sporting goods stores, or hunting and fishing equipment retailers. Additionally, you can call 1-888-486-8356 to buy the license at your convenience.
