NEW TOURIST DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL GRANT DEADLINE – SECOND QUARTER – OCTOBER 10, 2014

 

The Tourist Development Grants Program (TDC) is a quarterly program which provides support to significant cultural and/or special events, including sports activities and television/film origination projects that promote Miami-Dade County’s appeal as a tourist destination. Activities must be able to stimulate tourism and have significant media impact for Miami-Dade County. The new Second Quarter deadline is October 10, 2014 at 4 PM. ARTIST ACCESS (ART) GRANTS PROGRAM – FALL QUARTER

Postmark Deadline:  November 7, 2014

 

Program provides funding support for practicing, professional and emerging artists residing in Miami-Dade County to take advantage of specific professional development and skill-building opportunities (outside Miami-Dade County) to help advance their careers as working artists.  Funds may be used to cover attendance at advanced workshops, master classes, or seminars; to participate in artist residencies; to engage in activities that are specifically capable of advancing or propelling a professional career; etc. Grant awards range from $100 to $1,000.

 

Prospective applicants must call and request a phone consultation with the Artist Access Program Administrator, Mary Luft (305) 324-4337 at least one week prior to submitting an application by the postmark deadline (prior to Oct. 31, 2014).

 

CULTURE SHOCK TURNS 10!

 

Culture Shock Miami celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2014-2015 and you are invited to once again join our Department in cultivating the next generation of arts audiences. Culture Shock Miami is a simple and highly effective audience development concept that targets high school and college students ages 13-22. The program promotes and offers $5 tickets to the best cultural and performing arts events in Miami-Dade County and two-for-$5 tickets to museums. SURDNA FOUNDATION ISSUES RFP FOR INDIVIDUAL ARTISTS, CULTURE BEARERS, AND NONPROFITS ENGAGED IN SOCIAL CHANGE

Deadline: November 12, 2014

 

The Surdna Foundation is issuing a request for proposals to individual artists, culture bearers and nonprofit arts organizations. These funds are designed to support projects developed in response to communities’ specific challenges and to support artists and organizations whose long-term, deeply-rooted work has increased social engagement without necessarily being explicitly “activist.” The foundation will consider all artistic disciplines, including cross-disciplinary work.

 

Successful applicants will receive grants ranging from $25,000 to $150,000 over one or two year periods, with a maximum total award of $150,000.  The Request for Proposals is on the Surdna Foundation website: www.surdna.org/rfp. The Surdna Foundation will offer a webinar to answer questions on October 21 at 1:00 p.m. (EDT).
