North Miami’s Vice Mayor Announces Groundbreaking Ceremony for Breezeswept Park and Tot-Lot Revitalization Project

June 3, 2024

The City of North Miami and Vice Mayor Mary Estimé-Irvin, District 3, proudly announce the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Breezeswept Park and Tot-Lot Revitalization Project. The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 4, at 11:30 a.m., at 12501 NE 2nd Avenue, in North Miami.

Breezeswept Park was constructed in the 1960s. This groundbreaking marks the park’s first renovation project since the early 1980s and will surely enhance North Miami’s broad range of recreational options by transforming the current space into a modern, safe and engaging environment for all.

“I am thrilled to declare the commencement of the Breezeswept Park and Tot-Lot revitalization endeavor,” said Estimé-Irvin. “This remarkable undertaking signifies our dedication to enriching the well-being of our residents through the provision of upgraded recreational amenities and cultivating a more cohesive community spirit. This renovation will establish a lively and inviting area for families and children to relish — ensuring lasting enjoyment for generations ahead.”

Funded solely by the City of North Miami, the renovated Breezeswept Park and Tot-Lot will be suited to host various playful activations with its new playgrounds for children ages 2 to 5 and ages 5 to 15. It will also include an updated basketball court and picnic shelter, along with the City of North Miami’s first spray-ground!

Construction is set to begin Monday, June 10. The project is scheduled for completion in three months.
