Scholarship applications for high school seniors

Education fosters confidence, inspiration and motivation. Miami-Dade County’s Office of Neighborhood Safety is awarding 75 scholarships, in the amount of $2,500 each, to be paid directly to colleges or universities on behalf of the scholarship recipients.

The Peace & Prosperity Empowerment Through Education Scholarship supports college-bound young adults who are directly or indirectly impacted by gun violence, to achieve their higher education goals.

Applications are available to Miami-Dade County residents graduating from high school on or before August 1 with an unweighted grade-point average of 2.0 or above and attend an accredited college or university in the fall semester.

The application timeline is as follows:

  • Application opens February 14
  • Application closes March 24
  • Scholarship awards announced in June
