Scholarship applications open from April 21 to May 19

The Miami-Dade County Community Action and Human Services Department (CAHSD) is offering scholarships for qualifying students.

Community Advisory Committees (CACs) Scholarships:

  • 16 $2,500 awards
  • Candidates must be between the ages of 16-25
  • Canidates must be enrolled in a college or vocational institution or attending a college or vocational institution this fall
  • Students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA average
  • Applicants must reside within the boundaries of any of the sixteen target areas represented by a CAC
  • Applicants must have an annual household income that does not exceed 200% of the Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) Poverty Income Guidelines

Office of Neighborhood Safety (ONS) Scholarships:

  • 50 $1,500 college scholarships
  • Candidates must be between 16-25
  • Canidadtes must be enrolled in or attending a college or vocational institution in the fall with a minimum 2.0 GPA average
  • Applicants must also reside in Miami-Dade County
  • Other requirements include financial circumstances and submission of an essay
