Senator Osgood’s Response to Governor DeSantis Signing the Budget

Broward County, FL —

Broward County, FL – On Thursday, June 15, 2023 in Fort Pierce, FL, Governor DeSantis signed SB 2500, better known as the Appropriations bill or the budget. In response to the signing of SB 2500, Florida Senator Rosalind Osgood (D-Broward County) issued the following statement Friday:

“After undergoing the Governor’s veto pen, local projects in Broward County have successfully secured funding to enhance the well-being and livelihoods of our constituents. However, it is deeply disheartening to witness cities like Fort Lauderdale and Lauderhill being unfairly singled out and disadvantaged during the allocation process. I firmly reject any form of mistreatment towards these already underserved communities within District 32. It is imperative that we address this issue and ensure equitable distribution of resources among all cities within the State of Florida.”
