SPLASH! Dive into the Miami-Dade Water Safety Initiative

May is National Drowning Prevention Month and the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces and Fire Rescue Departments are joining forces to deliver water safety resources to all residents, raising community awareness around the importance of teaching all kids to swim. These programs include swimming classes, water safety messaging, and other measures proven to reduce, prevent and ultimately, eliminate water-related injuries and deaths.

During the summer months, the number of childhood deaths by drowning often increases, but many of these incidents are preventable. Miami-Dade County invites all residents to learn more about water safety and make swimming lessons a priority for the family.
