State preempts several business licenses issued by RER

Effective July 1, the Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER), Consumer Protection and Neighborhood Protection Division, is no longer issuing licenses for these occupations and businesses, in accordance with Section 163.211 of Florida Statutes, as Miami-Dade County no longer has regulatory authority over these occupations.

  • Locksmiths and locksmith services businesses
  • Pain management clinics
  • Personal injury protection medical providers
  • Water remeterers

Visit the Consumer Protection and Neighborhood Protection Division and scroll down to the Consumer Protection Business Licenses section to see a complete listing of occupations that require a license issued by RER.
