The Watershed That Connects Us: A Lake Worth Lagoon Speaker Series
The Watershed Management system ensures human and ecological freshwater needs for generations to come.

WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Join us Monday, March 20, 2023, from 7  to 8 p.m. to celebrate our beautiful and life-sustaining watershed ecosystem with the FREE Lake Worth Lagoon Speaker Series. A special presentation from Kayla O’Brien, a Florida Atlantic University biologist, will cover two research studies examining microplastics in the surface waters and sediments of the Lake Worth Lagoon and discuss efforts to protect and enhance our valuable marine systems. The Lake Worth Lagoon Watershed extends as far West as Lake Okeechobee and as far East as the Atlantic Ocean.

This presentation will take place at the West Palm Beach Mandel Public Library Auditorium at 411 Clematis St. in West Palm Beach.

The Lake Worth Lagoon Speakers Series supports efforts to protect coastal estuaries and beach systems that are at high-risk for microplastic pollution. The City of West Palm Beach Office of Sustainability, in partnership with the Lake Worth Waterkeeper and the Mandel Public Library, presents the program. No registration is required.
