We Need Your Help with the Arts and Economic Prosperity Study

Dear Colleagues,

We need your help with collecting important data for a new economic impact of the arts study! Audience surveying is currently underway and will continue through April 2023.  Right now, we are counting on your organization to participate and need your assistance collecting audience surveys throughout the FY 2022-2023 cultural season.  This data is essential for our work on the next Arts & Economic Prosperity® study which will gauge the economic impact of spending by nonprofit arts organizations and the event-related spending by their audiences.

How to Participate

If your organization has activities happening now or as you prepare to launch programs with the start of the cultural season, please email our AEP6 Manager, Kelly Allocco at Kelly.Allocco@miamidade.gov to request the audience survey materials. For those of you that have already been busy collecting surveys throughout the summer, we thank you for your participation and continued support.

As background, the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs is excited to partner with Americans for the Arts to launch of Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 (AEP6), the sixth and most comprehensive national study ever conducted of the economic impact of the nonprofit arts and culture industry. AEP6 will examine the economic impact in Miami-Dade County and 386 additional communities representing all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Support the Case for Arts Funding

While part of a national study, our reports will be based on spending by our own Miami-Dade County-based organizations as well as event-related spending by their audiences. This important research tool will demonstrate that when we invest dollars in the arts, we invest in an industry that strengthens our local economy. The data collected will help support the case for increased public and private sector arts funding in our community and will generate significant visibility for the arts in Miami-Dade County.

For more information and a full list of the communities participating in the AEP6 study, visit www.americansforthearts.org/AEP6

Best wishes for your 2022-2023 season and thank you for your help!

Michael Spring

Director, Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs
