Miami-Dade County stands with our neighbors across the Caribbean as Hurricane Beryl leaves behind devastation, thousands of families without homes and businesses destroyed.
We are working with relief organizations including Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) to send aid to the affected islands. Below please find more information for residents who wish to send support to those impacted by this dangerous storm.
DONATE SUPPLIES
The affected communities are asking for the following items of greatest need. We urge those who wish to donate to send only items on this list and to prioritize new, not used, items.
- trash bags
- tarps and tents
- sleeping bags
- work gloves
- solar-powered lights
- industrial sponges
- canned/nonperishable food (with 1+ year expiration date)
- first aid kits
- hygiene kits (hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, washcloths, deodorant)
- generators*
- cots
- sheets and blankets
*Please note generators can only be accepted at the Global Empowerment Mission HQ.
Miami-Dade County and GEM have designated the following drop-off locations to collect items.

- South Dade Regional Library, 10750 SW 211 St, Cutler Bay, FL 33189

- Stephen P. Clark Center, 111 NW 1st St, Miami, FL 33132
Libraries are closed on 4th of July and Sundays. The GEM warehouse is open for donations from Monday – Friday, 10 am – 5 pm.
You can also purchase and deliver emergency supplies directly to the GEM Warehouse via Amazon.

If you wish to make a financial contribution, you can donate to our partners at Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) who are collecting funds to send to local organizations in the most affected areas, or to the US Caribbean Strong Relief Fund via The Miami Foundation.

VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME
Volunteer every day of the week from 10 am – 5 pm (including Independence Day and the weekend) to assemble emergency kits from donated items. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes.
